“Virat Kohli is too deep”: Ravi Shastri, Kevin Pietersen On Why Captain RCB Already Needed -by Ecork

Virat Kohli’s patch patch is turning into a big rut as he continues to fail in his attempt to get a great score. With no international record for two-and-a-half years now, Kohli’s attempt to find a scoring form took another hit on Tuesday as he was knocked out for a gold duck in the RCB match against the Lucknow Super Giants. He has relinquished his IPL leadership position and is no longer leading India in any format, yet his gold touch with the bat is missing.

Kohli has been under intense scrutiny as an actor, captain and batter for the past 6-7 years and former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri feels that the batter needs a lot of rest to revive itself.

“When I was a coach at the time this first started, the first thing I said was ‘you have to show enthusiasm to people.’ “It’s the opposite of being there and giving the best. So you have to be very careful,” Ravi Shastri told Star Sports in a post-match presentation.

“I’m going directly to the first person here, Virat Kohli is very deep. If anyone needs a break, he is.

“Maybe it’s 2 months or a month and a half, either after England or before England.

“You need rest because you already have 6-7 years of cricket left in it and you don’t want to miss this one with a burning brain. He is not the only one. He could be 1 or 2 in the world cricket he went to by the same. You need to tackle the problem up front, “Shastri added.

Former England manager Kevin Pietersen agreed with Shastri and even suggested that Kohli should avoid social media to avoid any such scrutiny.

“100 percent right, Ravi. The guy has a lot to do with, from marriage to child to media review and all over personal life. He is the biggest star on display.

“Virat Kohli needs to say ‘cricket boots, for six months, I’ll see you later’. Turn off the media, go and recharge. a spot on that side for the next 12, 24 or 36 months.Tell him ‘if you are a guy, we know he will give it to us’.

“I think it will be very difficult to continue delivering now. His brain, according to Ravi Shastri, is completely burned,” Pietersen said.

Kohli has registered two scores in 40 years during this IPL and has not sold on all cylinders. He has won hundreds-and-a-half years of career in Indian cricket but his stance for a century continues in competitive cricket.
