Vice President Venkaiah Naidu’s visit to the UAE after the death of the Head of State -by Ecork

UAE Vice President’s Visit: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu is visiting the UAE on Sunday.

The Ministry of External Affairs said Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will visit the UAE on Sunday to offer India’s condolences on the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the Gulf state, passed away on Friday after suffering from illness for several years.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will visit the UAE on May 15 to offer condolences on behalf of the Government of India for the UAE leadership on the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Middle East Airlines said in a statement.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed their condolences on the death of Sheikh Khalifa.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited the UAE Embassy in New Delhi on Saturday to convey India’s condolences.

“He signed a letter of condolence at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, to offer our deepest condolences on the death of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the late President of the United Arab Emirates,” Mr. Jaishankar wrote on Twitter.

India marked a day of national mourning on Saturday out of respect for Sheikh Khalifa.

“Under the leadership of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Indo-Emirati relations flourished greatly for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the two countries, as he took exceptional care of the large Indian community in the Emirates, which was very much appreciated by him,” said the Middle East Airlines.

She said the two countries will continue to advance their historical and comprehensive strategic relationship in new and diversified fields.
