They Found Their Mother They Found. Now, Cold as Father Gave the World Prison -by Ecork

There are seven other allegations in the case, all of which are relatives of the accused.

On June 14, 2016, two young sisters saw their father and other relatives burning their mother alive in their house in Uttar Pradesh. They have seen their mother being tortured for many years, because they did not have children.

Manoj Bansal, 48, was sentenced to life in prison by a court in Bulandshahr on Thursday. The testimony of his two daughters proved his guilt.

Tanya and Latika Bansal, who are now 18 and 20, said they were happy that their six-year legal battle ended in a win for their father.

“My father killed my mother only because she did not give birth to a son. My mother raised us with a lot of difficulties and the man burned her alive. For us she is only a demon. After a 6-year fight, her conviction is a relief for us. , my sister and I were locked in a room and we witnessed how our father and others burned my mother,” Latika said in a video statement.

Their mother, Anu Bansal, married Manoj Bansal in 2000. After two daughters, she was forced to have five abortions because her husband wanted a boy. Her husband and relatives are repeatedly torturing her. On the night he was burned, his daughters were locked in a room. He died of massive burn injuries six days later, on May 20, 2016.

Their grandmother, Anu’s mother, has lodged an FIR in the case. Latika had also written to the then UP Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, pleading for justice. Parts of that letter were written in his own blood.

“We didn’t say anything to him but he mocked us when they took him away saying – he must be happy now,” Latika said on watching her father’s sentence.

“After a police investigation, the police changed the charge to ‘abetment to suicide’ instead of murder, but we fought this in court and the court reinstated the charge of murder in the case,” said Sanjay Sharma, lawyer for Anu’s mother. Bansal and daughter said in a word.

There are seven other accused in the case, according to the lawyer – all of them are relatives of Manoj Bansal.
