A party official said Shiv Sena MLA from Mumbai, Ramesh Latki, died of cardiac arrest in Dubai. He was 52 years old.
“Ramesh Latke died on Wednesday in Dubai, where he went with his family on vacation,” the party official said.
Latke has been a member of the Shiv Sena Legislative Assembly twice from the Andheri East Society constituency in Mumbai.
“Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray and other senior party leaders have informed us about the initiation of procedures to return his body to India. We hope that the body will be returned on Thursday,” he told the Press Trust of India.
Shiv Sena is currently sharing power in Maharashtra with the NCP led by Sharad Pawar and the Congress.
