Russian diplomats in the US “threatened and seduced” by the FBI, the colleges envoy -by Ecork

War between Russia and Ukraine: Russia and the United States are in conflict.

On Saturday, the TASS news agency quoted the ambassador as saying that Russian diplomats in Washington were being threatened with violence and that US intelligence services were trying to contact them.

Anatoly Antonov told Russian television that since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, direct meetings with US officials have ended.

“It’s like a besieged castle. Our embassy basically operates in a hostile environment… Embassy staff receive threats, including threats of physical violence,” TASS quoted him as saying.

“Agents of the American security services wander outside the Russian embassy, handing out CIA and FBI phone numbers, which can be called to make a connection.”

The CIA, the FBI, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the US State Department did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

The Russian ambassador to Poland was doused with red substance on Monday by anti-war protesters.

Russia and the United States were in dispute over the size and functioning of their diplomatic missions long before Russia invaded Ukraine.

Moscow expelled several US diplomats in March after Washington said it would expel 12 Russian diplomats from the country’s mission to the United Nations in New York.
