World Taekwondo has strongly condemned the vicious attacks on innocent lives in Ukraine, which are against the physical vision of “Precious Peace Than Victory” and World Taekwondo values ​​of respect and tolerance.

“In this way, World Taekwondo has decided to remove the 9th belt and the black belt given to Vladimir Putin in November 2013,” said an official statement.

In cooperation with the International Olympic Committee, no Russian or Belarusian national flags will be displayed or played at the World Taekwondo events.

The Taekwondo World and the European Taekwondo Union will not organize or recognize Taekwondo events in Russia and Belarus.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday announced a military operation in Ukraine and warned other countries that any attempt to interfere with Russia’s actions would lead to “unintended consequences.”
