Ranji Trophy: Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara get out cheaply in respective games for Mumbai and Saurashtra | Cricket News

Ahmedabad: Ajinkya Rahane did not remove the scorers as Mumbai put them back-to-back through Goa while Saurashtra were affected by Cheteshwar Pujara’s cheap draw against Odisha in their respective Ranji Trophy Elite Group D matches respectively.

Mumbai all came out for 163 with Rahane (0) trapped in the first leg by an incoming delivery from pacer Lakshay Garg (6/46) as Sarfaraz Khan (63 kills 110 balls) only half-century saved.

Even Prithvi Shaw (9) came out cheap as Garg won the ball to move both ways to get the 44 Mumbai champions all out in 52.4 overs.

Garg has good support from the late Amit Yadav (4/47) as the only major Mumbai stand at 75 between Sarfaraz and Sachin Yadav (27).

Goa is 114 for two in stumps like two Desais, Amogh (51) and Suyash Prabhudesai (40), adding 56 runs.

Saurashtra 325 for 4 as Pujara opted for 8

In another game, Saurashtra was 325 for 4 as Pujara hit two fours before taking in the slip by Biplab Samanray and bowled by Debabrata Pradhan. Chirag Jani (125 batting) and Sheldon Jackson (75) added 130 runs for the fourth wicket stand.

Mumbai 1st Innings: 163 (Sarfaraz Khan 63, Prithvi Shaw 9, Ajinkya Rahane 0, Lakshay Garg 6/46). Goa 114/2 (Amogh Desai 51).
