Ranji Trophy 2022: Ishant Sharma bowls only 4 overs, Navdeep Saini takes three as Delhi bowl out Jharkhand for 251 | Cricket News

Guwahati: Ishant Sharma bowled only a short spell of four overs but his teammate India Navdeep Saini along with the spinners dismissed Jharkhand for a down par 251 on the opening day of Delhi’s second team H must-win Ranji Trophy match here on Thursday.

Ishant and Saini’s entry made the Delhi attack stronger but the lanky fast bowler (4-1-14-0) after the first gingerly double did not return for the second spell.

He didn’t play as much as Saini (12-2-37-3) with left-back Vikas Mishra (18-3-65-3) and two-time breakers Lalit Yadav (13-0- 46-2) and Nitish Rana (14-2-41-2) had wickets at regular intervals to deflate Jharkhand.

In the stumps, Delhi was 28 for 1, losing wicket Yash Dhull (5) with Dhruv Shorey (batting 15) and Himmat Singh (batting 5) in the bout.

Jharkhand skipper Virat Singh (103 kills 171 balls) and startup Nazim Siddiqui (52) were the only two major contributors.

In fact, Delhi does not need Ishant with its slow music that helps the spinners and Saini also works at a decent speed to keep the batters in tune during its long run.

The only stop was to talk about us between Utkarsh Singh (21) and Nazeem as they added 78 for the second wicket in the fast season.

Left-handed Virat, who hit 15 yards, four and six, could not be controlled as No 10 only Sushant Mishra (20) gave him some support for the ninth wicket that took 39. The coach then added another 51 for the final wicket. with Ashish Kumar on the way to his first fourth grade class.

When Delhi batted, Dhull tasted its first failure at a high level after hundreds of twins as it struck one from Ashish to caretaker Kumar Kushagra.
