Paramilitary Jawan Dead, Scores Injured In Kolkata Museum Firing -by Ecork

CISF took over the security of the museum in December 2019.

A paramilitary jawan was shot dead and several others injured after their colleague, a CISF constable was shot indiscriminately in their barracks at the Indian Museum in Kolkata this evening.

The constable who used his service weapon to shoot at his colleagues was discharged and arrested by the police.

“The incident took place around 6.30 PM. One CISF jawan was killed while another was seriously injured. The accused has been arrested,” Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal said.

He fired at a police car, injuring several police officers, including the driver, according to sources.

The Central Security Force or CISF took over the security of the museum in December 2019.

The museum, located in the heart of Kolkata, is an autonomous organization under the administrative control of the Union Cultural Centre.
