It is often said that sometimes all you need is a wonderful stroke of luck. And for a brick kiln worker in Madhya Pradesh, he was lucky after stumbling upon a diamond worth Rs 1.20 crore in a mineral in the Panna MP area. The mechanic, Sushil Shukla, is a resident of Kishoreganj in the Panna city of Madhya Pradesh and runs a small brick factory in a rented place, the PTI news agency reported. Shukla and her family are reported to have been involved in mining for the past 20 years. Shukla took the shallow mineral on rent with his five co-workers but never discovered anything precious. However, on Monday, he and his co-workers unloaded a 26.11 carat diamond from a mine near the Krishna Kalyanpur area, according to Ravi Patel, an employee of the Panna diamond company.

According to Patel, the diamond is worth Rs 1.20 crore and will be on sale in a few days. He further said that after the auction, the amount will be for Shukla postal tax and government deduction. Unable to find such a valuable gem from the shale, Shukla hopes to raise more than Rs 1.20 crore for the diamond. A bricklayer said he would use the money to start a business.

After all, this is not the first time mines in the Panna area have made someone rich overnight. Last year, four workers found seven precious stones at the Krishna Kalyanpur Putli mine. Of the four, one farmer discovered a large stone weighing 13.54 carats. Reports indicate that two workers found three diamonds in one day while two other workers released less diamonds the next day. The cost of a large diamond is estimated at more than Rs 60 lakh.
