Indian batter Ishan Kishan has been discharged from hospital after suffering a head injury during the second T20I against Sri Lanka on Saturday.

“Ishan Kishan has been discharged from hospital but is under close supervision of the medical team of BCCI. He is likely to rest from the third T20I against Sri Lanka,” sources familiar with the developments told ANI.

Ishan Kishan suffered a head injury on Saturday and was rushed to a hospital in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh after the second T20I.

How was he injured?

The incident occurred in the fourth on Indian innings when a delivery pacy hit Kishan on his helmet while the batter was trying to pull the trigger. However, 23-year-old Kishan continued playing despite the physio consulting against him but lost his wicket soon and then walked back to the pafilion after scoring 16 in 15 balls.

Chandimal hurts his thumb

Besides him, Sri Lankan batter Dinesh Chandimal was also taken to hospital after suffering a toe injury while sucking.

Coming to the second T20I, Shreyas Iyer broke 50 yards before Ravindra Jadeja killed 45 in 18 balls to help India defeat Sri Lanka in the second T20I by seven wickets on Saturday.With this win, India also scored two-match T20I series (2-0) with one game to go. The third T20I between the two teams will be played on Sunday.
