India’s KL Rahul, recently named as the leader of the new IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), comes to the rescue of an 11-year-old boy who loves cricketer Varad, who needs a bone marrow transplant (BMT) in prompt to treat a rare anemia.

In December, parents Varad Sachin Nalawade, insurance agent, and Swapna Jha landlord, launched a fundraising campaign on GiveIndia to raise the ₹ 35 lakh they need to pay for the care of their child. Rahul’s team got in touch with GiveIndia as soon as they knew about Varad and the fundraiser.

Since September, a fifth-grade student has been under the care of anesthesiologists at Mumbai’s Jaslok Hospital after being diagnosed with aplastic, rare blood clots. Varad blood platelet levels are much lower, making your immune system more susceptible to infections. Even normal fever takes months to heal. Bone marrow transplantation is the only permanent cure for Varad condition.

The middle-class has run out of money, with his father even pushing his provider’s savings savings to pay for Varad’s rising medical bills to keep his son’s dreams of becoming a cricketer alive. Speaking about the gift, Rahul said, “When I found out about Varad’s situation, my team contacted GiveIndia so that we could help him in any way we could. I am happy that the operation was successful, and that it went well. I hope Varad gets back on his feet early on and continues to achieve his dreams. I hope my contribution gives more and more people to come forward and help those in need. ”

Meanwhile, Varad Swapna’s mother thanked Rahul for saving her son’s life.

“We are grateful to KL Rahul for such a significant contribution to Varad’s surgery. But for him, it would not have been possible to lift the bone marrow in such a short time. Thank you, Rahul, “ he said.
