Team India and Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja explained why he did not sacrifice in the third and final T20I against Sri Lanka on Sunday (February 27). Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav made their full share of the four-pointers, but Jadeja did not make a comeback in the final T20I of the series.

“The plan is to give Bishnoi and Kuldeep some exercise time today, that’s why I did not bowl,” Jadeja said after 3rd T20I. “I have worked hard at the NCA, the coaches there helped, that is my preparation for the upcoming T20Is and Tests,” he added.

Jadeja made his return to the cricket world with the Sri Lankan series and impressed one and all, especially with the bat in hand. India won the third and final T20I match against Sri Lanka by six wickets. For the veterans, Shreyas Iyer starred with 73 unbeaten runs as the Men-in-Blue chased a 146-yard field goal among 16.5 overs.

India did not find themselves in trouble while chasing the underwhelming goals of 146. Shreyas trumped the Chase with 73 not out off 45 balls – his third following half-century. The Warriors dominated the game and chased the pitch with six wickets and 19 balls to advance.

Have to play, can not complain about the conditions: Dasun Shanaka

Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka expressed sadness after his team was hit by India in the third T20I and final of the three-game series at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. India won their last T20I match by six wickets.
