India vs SL 2022: HUGE blow for Team India as THIS batter ruled out after Deepak Chahar Suryakumar Yadav | Cricket News

Rohit Sharma’s Team India suffered two setbacks even before the T20 three-way series against Sri Lanka could start on Thursday (February 24). After all-rounder Deepak Chahar’s injury, India will lose the performance of top batter Suryakumar Yadav from the T20 series as well.

Yadav, the second-highest runner in the T20 series after the West Indies scoring 107 points with a top-score of 65 in the third and final match in Kolkata on Sunday, was spotted during the Indian Championship in Lucknow on the day Tuesday (February. 22). However, the Cricbuzz website reported that the 31-year-old batman had suffered a hair loss in his hand and had been ruled out of the white football series.

It is not clear where and when Mumbai Indian batter Suryakumar was injured but he is understood to have sustained it while making space in the third T20I against the West Indies at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Suryakumar, who was the Player of the Series in the T20Is against the West Indies, is the second Indian player to emerge from the Sri Lanka T20Is. Deepak Chahar has also been ruled out of the upcoming matches in Lucknow and Dharamsala after suffering a hamstring injury in Kolkata. “It is ruled out of the series and will end up rehab in the NCA,” said a BCCI official.

It remains to be seen whether Chahar will qualify for IPL 2022 which is expected to start next week of March. “The group is not being replaced as Vice President Jasprit Bumrah is on the side,” the official added.

Earlier, BCCI announced on Saturday that Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant will be on leave for the T20 series against Sri Lanka. Making a comeback in the T20 India team is the driving force of Kerala Sanju Samson, who is also the Rajasthan Royals captain in the IPL.

The T20 International three-match series against Sri Lanka kicks off in Lucknow on Thursday.
