As India named their team for the T20-two series to Ireland, one missing name is all-rounder Rahul Tewatia. The 29-year-old played a key role in helping the Gujarat Titans win the Indian Premier League title in their first season, but the options were slim. Tewatia posted a two-word tweet that has gone viral since. “Expectations are sweet (sic),” he tweeted. The post has more than 10,000 favorites and more than 500 retweets on the microblogging site, with many users comforting him and assuring him that he will have a day at the national team.

Tewatia has had a call for the T20I series in Australia after IPL 2020, but could not rule out the fitness test at that time.
He has since never moved to India.
In IPL 2022, Tewatia played the role of the star performer for the Gujarat Titans, helping them overcome many of their last chases with his six beating heroes.
In 16 matches, he won 217 games in averaging 31 and a strike rate of 147.62.
His Gujarat Titan hero, Hardik Pandya, has been in charge of the Indian tour of Ireland, while pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been named the deputy captain.
Rishabh Pant, who is leading India in the ongoing five T20I series against South Africa, has resigned as he prepares to join the Test team before rescheduling the Fifth Test to England, which starts on 1 July .
India and Ireland will play two T20Is in Malahide on May 26 and May 28.
