Giorgio Chiellini will leave Juventus at the end of the season, the veteran defender said on Thursday after his side lost the Italian Cup final to Inter Milan. Juve captain Chiellini says he will leave the club where he has won a host of competitions as soon as they finish their last two games of the current Serie A season.
“We’ve had 10 good years, now it’s up to the youngsters to move things. I have done everything I can, I hope I have left something,” Chiellini told Mediaset after the defeat 4 -2 si Inter. is Rome.
“On Monday I will say goodbye to (Allianz) Stadium (against Lazio) … It is 100 percent my decision.”
Chiellini later said he did not know if he would retire from the game altogether after leaving Juve.
“I do not know … I need to think about it with my family. I am happy to leave Juve at this time when I am still at a high level,” he told reporters.
The 37-year-old will end his international career this summer after Italy faced Argentina in the ‘Finalissima’ at Wembley, where last July they won Euro 2020 with Italy.
He has won nine League titles since arriving from Livorno in 2004, as well as five Italian Cups.
