Elon Musk Sends Starlink Devices to Ukraine as Promised, Minister Says Thanks with a Photo
As Russia invades Ukraine from three sides, facing the largest destruction in Europe since World War II, the world has turned its back on Russia’s actions. Millions of people are ready to help Ukraine gain stable ground in such unexpected times. Tesla CEO and the world’s richest man Elon Musk, in particular, offered to provide Starlink internet connection amid internet blackout in Ukraine. In response to a request by the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, Elon Musk promised the provision of Starlink satellite internet service in the war zones of Ukraine.
And Musk kept his promise and sent terminals for the Starlink satellite service. Federov, who is also Ukraine’s digital transformation minister, shared a picture of the terminal delivery he recently received and thanked Elon for his help. Federov wrote, “Starlink – here. Thank you, Elon Musk.”…
To which Musk replied, “It is very welcome.”
The satellite-based communications equipment provided by Elon would be a great help in countering Russia’s attempts to undermine Ukraine’s sovereignty. The help came after Federov tweeted this, asking for Elon’s help to establish communication during these difficult times.

While many praised Elon’s efforts, some doubted the effectiveness of Starlink’s microphone function. However, one has to consider the amount of relief Starlink can provide to the people of Ukraine.
Amid the Ukraine attack by Russia gaining international attention, an internet connection was essential, especially in cities such as Kharkiv and Kyiv. Musk help comes at a time when people are afraid of being disconnected from all over the world.
