Delhi Capitals (DC) face the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 58th edition of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season, at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Thursday. Delhi are currently fifth in the IPL 2022 table with 10 points from 11 games, including five wins and six defeats. The Rishabh Pant team will aim to return to winning ways, losing to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 91 games in their previous game on Sunday.
Here is how DC can set up against RR:
David Warner: The Australian opener is the team’s top defender this season and is also sixth in the Orange Cap competition. In nine games for DC in IPL 2022, Warner has registered 375 runs with four half-assists. You can only muster 19 runs off 12 balls during the loss to CSK and will be aiming a bounce back to grow.
Srikar Bharat: With Prithvi Shaw’s recovery status yet to be confirmed, Srikar Bharat hopes to open the innings with Warner. The 28-year-old has been ruled out of action against CSK but will be expected to make an impact in the upcoming game.
Mitchell Marsh: Mitchell Marsh was not able to make a big impact for DC. He also failed to turn his good starters into big scores and will aim to improve in that area.
Rishabh Pant: Captain Delhi has not been very good this season and he still failed to fight for long. Against CSK, he was eliminated after registering 21 runs off 11 balls (including four).
Rovman Powell: Having already mastered his great piercing techniques, Rovman Powell will aim at some consistency with the bat.
Ripal Patel: Ripal Patel failed to impress vs CSK and lost his wicket after scoring six runs off three balls. He would expect to spend most of his life.
Axar Patel: Axar Patel has picked up just four wickets in 10 games this season. He will aim to add more wickets to his tally.
Shardul Thakur: Shardul Thakur has taken nine wickets in 11 games this season. He will aim to dance a few runs.
Kuldeep Yadav: Offensive is the top wicket supplier on his team this season and is also fourth in the Purple Cap Championship with 18 rebounds in 11 rebounds.
Anrich Nortje: Anrich Nortje was in hot form vs CSK, taking three wickets in four overs. He accounted for the major exceptions of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali and Robin Uthappa.
Khaleel Ahmed: Khaleel Ahmed has been a trusted supporter of DC with football this season and will be looking to add to his tally of 16 wickets.
