Delhi-based GMR airport will start operations at the new T1 terminal starting tonight. The new state-of-the-art TTY will be operational from Thursday morning, December 24, 2022 and promises to enhance the driving experience with safety, security and sustainable infrastructure, as mentioned by the GMR team in an explanation.

Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), GMR Infrastructure Ltd., has built the new Terminal 1 Dede as part of the ongoing Delhi 3A Expansion, major development and refurbishment concept for IGI Airport.

The new departure terminal will operate with the arrival of the IndiGo flight (6E 6532) from Goa at around 3.20am on 24 February 2022. With the opening of the new Terminal Arrival, all arrival services of T1 (IndiGo and SpiceJet) will be changed. from the existing facility to a new one. Departure services will continue from the existing terminal, and will eventually integrate with the newly arrived hall after the completion of expansion projects.

The new Terminal Building will also offer a plush forecourt area, including land and stores for food and beverage (F&B), retail and parking area for cars, and more. On the city side, the routes outside the Arrival terminal have been renovated and expanded with three additional lanes (3), bringing the total number of lanes to 11. We have built a new Building Terminal as a green house, keeping the world-renowned LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building principles in mind. In addition, electrical appliances and equipment such as HVAC and luggage belts are energy efficient and therefore less energy consuming.
