BPCL, Hero enter partnership to set up 2-wheeler EV charging infra in India | Mobility News

Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest two-wheeler, has announced a partnership with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) to provide charging infrastructure for two-wheelers (EVs) across the country.

Last year, BPCL announced that it was converting 7,000 traditional retail stores into power stations offering more fuel options, which will also include EV charging equipment, in the medium to long term.

As part of the collaboration, the two companies will first establish a large charging infrastructure in the existing power station nationwide. After all, they can increase collaboration to develop more synergies between the EV ecosystem and nearby business vertical, thereby maximizing prospects throughout the customer life cycle.

In the first phase, charging stations will be set up in all the nine cities starting with Delhi and Bengaluru. The network will then expand across the country with the aim of establishing a high density of charging stations.

“The partnership with BPCL, which is at the forefront of customer power solutions, will be an opportunity for both EV and customers. This collaboration will also open up opportunities for asset distribution and promotion in the future,” said Hero MotoCorp Chairman and CEO Pawan Munjal said in a statement.

BPCL Chairman and Infectious Disease Director Kumar Singh said, “India’s personal tourism is first and foremost a two-pronged approach which is a huge part of a valuable customer base.”

“Our partnership with Hero MotoCorp, a global leader in two-wheeled industry and with a good penchant for innovation, is, therefore, a strategic step towards moving in the era of best-in-class EV charging solutions for customers are in us. power stations and exciting future of innovative solutions in the EV sector, ”he said.

“Hero MotoCorp says it will soon start developing infrastructure in both cities.
Each charging station will feature multiple charging stations, including DC and AC chargers, and will be available for use on all two EV wheels, ”he added.

The company explains that the entire user charging experience will be managed by the hero MotoCorp Mobile-App and will be a business transaction model.
