BCCI forms committee to investigate threats Wriddhiman Saha received from senior journalist | Cricket News

New Delhi: The BCCI has set up a three-member committee to investigate the alleged threat posed by a senior journalist to Wriddhiman Saha for refusing to give an interview.

While Saha had initially refused to name the reporter in several tweets on February 23, she understood that she was now ready to reveal the identity of the reporter and had given an order to investigate.

“The Cricket Board in India (BCCI) today formed a three-member committee to look into the issue of Wriddhiman Saha receiving threats and harassment from a senior journalist,” BCCi said in a statement.

“The three-member committee comprises BCCI Vice President Mr Rajiv Shukla, BCCI Treasurer Mr Arun Singh Dhumal and BCCI Apex Council Mr Prabhtej Singh Bhatia. The committee will begin its work early next week.”

The BCCI stated that “a cricketer with a central contract is a threat threatened by a senior reporter for not responding to his messages requesting an interview”.

Recognizing the matter, BCCI in contact with Saha decided to form a three-member committee to investigate the matter.

WhatsApp messages sent by the reporter in a scary tone, “It’s not enough, I’m not interviewing you anymore. I do not accept insults properly. I will remember this.”

Saha, who has performed 40 tests, has already been ruled out by the Indian team management that he will not play for India again.
