Arvind Kejriwal pledges free Hajj if AAP votes for power in Gujarat -by Ecork

Adami public party organizer and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday promised free pilgrimage to elderly people on AC trains to various religious places, including Ayodhya, if the AAP is voted to take power in Gujarat, accusing the BJP of “failure” on Multiple fronts during her rule, which lasted nearly three decades in the state.

He also promised free electricity, improved schools and hospitals if the AAP forms the next government in Gujarat, where assembly elections are due by the end of the year.

Addressing a rally in Rajkot, Kejriwal accused the BJP of “failure” on the education, health and employment fronts in Gujarat during his long rule in the state.

Highlighting the reforms made in Delhi’s education sector under his premiership, Kejriwal accused the BJP government in Gujarat of shutting down nearly 6,000 government-run schools intended for “poor” citizens.

“Although the BJP has been in power for 27 years in Gujarat, it has never sent anyone for Hajj. Have they sent anyone to Ayodhya all these years? We have sent them to places like Mathura, Haridwar and Vrindavan under our scheme without any charge being brought “.

Addressing the crowd, Mr. Kejriwal said, “If the power is to be voted in Gujarat, we will take every elderly citizen to religious places for free. We will send them on air-conditioned trains and arrange their stay in air-conditioned hotel rooms.”

The leader of the association, whose party had recently formed its government in Punjab, asked the people of Gujarat to give his group a chance to rule the state, the stronghold of the BJP.

“The AAP is a party of educated, honest and patriots. I urge people to give us one chance, at least, to break the egos of the BJP. If you do not find our work satisfactory, you are free to choose anyone else in the next elections in five years.”

He claimed that although Bhupendra Patil is the chief minister of Gujarat, the show is being run by the state’s BJP chief CR Patil.

The league leader said that government schools in Delhi have improved significantly after his party came to power in the national capital.

“I have learned that public schools are in poor condition in Gujarat. The situation was similar in Delhi before we came to power. But we have made our schools world class in just five years. Almost 4 children of the rich left private schools and enrolled in government-run schools.”

Attacking his bitter political opponent the Bharatiya Janata Party, the chief minister in Delhi said the saffron group was in power only to “steal” the people of Gujarat.

“If we can reform public schools in five years, why can’t the BJP do the same in 27 years in Gujarat? Because they came to power only to rob people. If the Delhi government can prevent private schools from increasing their fees, why not Can the BJP do the same in Gujarat? Because the BJP is hand in hand with the private school owners here.”

The AAP leader asked the people present at the rally if he looked like a “thug” as Gujarat BJP chief Patel recently described him.

“Patilji said Kejriwal is a thug. Do I look like a thug? Does the thug improve schools and hospitals? Batilji said I am a terrorist. Does my terrorist send people for Hajj?” asked Mr. Kejriwal.

Then the bureaucrat-turned-politician asked the people attending the rally to raise their hands if they felt Patel was a “thug”. For this, almost everyone present raised their hands.

The association leader said that people should vote for his party if they want free electricity for 24 hours, just like in Delhi.

“Educated young people in Gujarat do not get jobs. We have provided jobs for 12 young people in five years and are currently working on creating jobs for 20,000 in the next five years. If you want jobs, bring AAP to power in Gujarat,” said Mr. Kejriwal.

Without naming names, he claimed that the prominent Congress leader was prevented by the BJP from joining the AAP and asked to remain in the opposition party.

“When that leader asked why, BJP leaders told him that Congress is BJP’s younger sister. I want Gujarat people to remove this mix of brother and sister and bring AAP in Gujarat,” said Mr. Kejriwal.
