In the month of March, the government may announce to increase the Free Pay of Central Government employees by 3 percent. Therefore, the current Dearness allowance of 31 percent would be extended to 34 percent. According to a report at, this would mean that the central government would receive around Rs 90,000. Reports related to the increase in DA continued further after AICPI data was released in December.

According to JCM Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra, center staff should be paid accordingly. Although the government has not yet commented on the status quo of the 18-month DA arrears, the 3% DA increase will provide much-needed relief to government officials. If an employee’s basic salary is Rs 30,000 per month, then his salary will increase by Rs 900 per month. On an annual basis, your average salary will increase directly by Rs 10,800. The rate of the ministerial level staff will increase by Rs 7500 per month. As a result, workers earning a maximum wage of Rs 2.5 lakh will benefit up to Rs 90,000 annually, reports.

The Union Commission in May 2017 approved the recommendations of the 7th Payment Commission with 34 amendments. For Class 1 employees, the starting salary is Rs 56,100; while at the highest level ie Secretary, go up from Rs 90,000 to Rs 2.5 lakh.
