Six people died following an explosion in the house of a firefighter trader at Khudai Bagh village in Khaira police station of Bihar’s Saran district on Sunday.
The shopkeeper is Shabir Hussain. The explosion caused a part of the building to collapse while the remaining part caught fire. According to the police, the house is located on the bank of a river, which is the main part of the house.
As many as eight people are trapped under the debris. The injured people have been admitted to Sadar hospital in Chhapra. The condition of the eight injured is said to be critical.
This village is about 30 kms from the district headquarters Chhapra.
“Six people have died after a house collapsed due to an explosion in Chhapra. We are trying to rescue the people trapped under the debris. We are investigating the reason behind the explosion. The forensic team and the bombers have also been called,” said. Santosh Kumar, Saran SP.
According to the police, they fired shots in the house where the explosion happened, and they heard explosions for an hour.
The businessman has been accused of illegally selling parcels during the wedding. It was alleged that the house was a part of an illegal factory where firearms were manufactured, PTI news agency said.
According to the report, the intensity of the explosion not only damaged the house but also damaged the six houses next to it. Cracks are visible in more than six buildings.
